WHO?!?

Wally is the brainchild of Lee Nelson. Lee wanted the be a street performer from the moment he first saw people living outside the law on the streets of his home town in Perth, Australia back in 1990. He gave it a crack for himself for the first time back in 1992 upon leaving high school and has never looked back. The only time he hasn't been on the street has been during his 3 years at circus school where he still worked the crowds on the weekends to support himself and debut new material.
Street Performing has taken Lee right around the world many times. Firstly with Tripinc he toured Australia and New Zealand as a "Dry Water Synchronised Swimmer" in the leadup to the Sydney Summer Olympics. Then as "Derek" in "Daisy and Derek" he toured SE Asia, Europe, Canada and the US for 5 years until going solo again in 2005. Since then Lee has returned to the street as Wally, ignoring established Street Performance Festivals to search out new pitches and audiences for his off beat humour. This has culminated in Lee now splitting his time between Capetown, South Africa and Reykjavik, Iceland, where he has a young family and a fragile grasp of Islandic.
Lee has performed in a staggering 103 different countries but by his own admission this is a generous count because he includes Wales as a country.
